Dash mounted warning lights

2012 Gangsta Trike, I would like to add two warning lights (1 green 1 red) to my dash near the stereo, one to indicate I have the fan on and the other a low fuel warning. The current ones on the tank are difficult to see unless shaded and the angle is just right. Could somebody suggest about where to tap into those warning lights and will any 12v LED work? Appreciate any assistance or suggestions, John
