We definitely will not avoid you but for some reason our bikes tend to break down during these events. Hopefully 2015 will be a different story. Two brothers Cafe in Deland has a nice cafe with great coffee and fresh baked pastries.

Is that the one on main or the one about 4 blocks S and just East? Dennis and I went to that one and had a blast with a Barista

Two brothers is a German cafe that is on the north side of Deland almost into the next town of DeLeon Springs. In DeLeon Springs there is a restaurant in the park called the sugar mill. I heard this was a great place for breakfast. The table has a built in griddle to cook your own pancakes.

:hmmmm: You should put together a map showing these neat resturants in Deland. the german place sounds cool (grand daughter) loves pancakes. I still haven't found the pit masters BBQ place on 17.

Great seeing you and your new trike, it's beautiful brother!!!!

I don't know where the German place is but sure I can find it :) PitMaster is AWESOME, had dinner there last night. They have some of the best BBQ around ... We have never finished all of our food, have always carried a doggie bag home!!

TJY- I have a better idea- how about if you and the family take a ride to DeLand and we can go on a tour? 8-)

Just love seeing those full containers from across the pond- see you all soon and Safe travels! Remember that Bill and I have room for vehicle parking if needed in DeLand.

This will be a special event for me this year. Good health, And a new and working trike. I look forward to seeing everybody but I don't know if I'll find every body! I want to do the Deland breakfast run also.

I missed the breakfast due to late rising but made the rest of the day of the Deland Bike Week Saturday...a mini-Sturgis of sorts.

Ponch told me about the breakfast last year..Bill and Susan would also know but maybe when closer to the date we could organize it better on here??

SUGAR MILL for breakfast has got to be a must do ... very unique place and awesome pancakes (I don't usually eat pancakes). You cook your own cakes and eggs at your table ... they cook the meat and bring out. Highly recommend and I think you all would enjoy. The restaurant is in a State Park and the Ponce Deleon Springs are located outside the door! I'd be happy to lead a group west if interested ...

Even though we are still a few months away I wanted to compile a list of V8 activities planned/suggested. So far:

- Deland bikefest on first Sat (still debating about breakfast before or just meet somewhere and ride in together)?
- Wild Bill's V8 parade TBD
- Sugar Mill in Deleon springs
- Dixie Crossroads?
- Tim and Mary Baker BBQ on the last Friday?

Billy Duncan, what are the plans for your place this year? Still the same?

I forget what time we left from the airport last year but if the pancake thing is on the agenda this year we will need to determine what time to leave so as to have a better shot of more convenient parking (a little closer) in Deland. If I remember correctly we were literally at the end of Main Street parking last year. The above is intended as a suggestion only, this ain't my show, I'm only a participant.

Buck...

Exactly my thoughts. Do the Pancake run another day and sit around and visit and maybe take in the attractions instead of rushing away.

Then for Deland Saturday Bike Day we could organize a ride in to deland fairly early and grab a half a block of parking for the day...that would be really cool to see a line of V8's parked all day..as you said...just my thoughts...not my show

:what_he_said: -I agree Sugarmill in DeLeon should be one day there is a $4 parking fee to enter springs, once there we can eat, hike, Eco tour on pontoon boat, rent kayaks, swim in springs , etc. and DeLand Bike fest on first Saturday. I will also recommend not meeting for breakfast just have a designated meet point and all ride in together early and then once there find a place to eat in downtown.

I would suggest starting another 2015 Bike week activity only thread.

Maybe discuss things here and edit / update the other to keep it clean and easy to find the info. Just a thought ...
Last year there was one similar and I found it to be a very valuable resource when all activities were all on one post.
