Hi all, I've just bought a replacement alternator off eBay. It's described as a 1-3 wire alternator. Does this mean that a 3 wire GM unit is the same as a single wire in that it has fixed magnets and not a field and "exciter" winding which we are more familiar with here in the U.K. ? I only bought it because it was advertised as new old stock and cost me £60 to the door which seemed very reasonable. Cheers
