Re: Anybody Still Riding Their Bikes ?
:canada: I'm still riding my 2004 Boss Hoss SB bike, that I bought new way back then. I was on it a couple days ago for a hundred miles or so. Great weather right now in Riverview, New Brunswick, Canada, and I hope it keeps up for another month or so. The old horse now has 420,000 Km on it and still...

Re: Wheel Balance, better way
This is how to properly balance your wheels, everything installed, pulley, rotors, etc. if you want a smooth, vibration free ride, Not good enough to just balance the wheel as no doubt that all accessories aren’t perfect and WILL skew your wheel only balance. https://youtu.be/UPF7S4USc3Y Rick, I wo...

Re: Nesco Sump Plate.
Hmmm.
I am still using the original plate that came with the bike 227,000 miles ago. I'm still using the original O Rings on the 2 bolts. The same rubber gasket has been reused for over 5 years.
I've never had a leak.

Re: Brembo Frustrations
The rear Brembo caliper on my bike will do the same sometimes, wear one out before the other. It's important to have the caliper centered over the rotor so that one side is not squeezing the rotor more than the other. Even when the brake is released while cruising the closest pad to the rotor will w...

Re: MPG
I have gotten as good as 9.8 liters per 100 KM. Many times I've made 10 liters per 100 KM. That works out to real close to 30 MPG Imperial. A US gallon is smaller so it works out to about 26 MPG US.
That's one up, me only on the bike. I cant do that well 2 up.![Canadian Flag :canada:](./images/smilies/canadian-flag.gif)

Re: Anybody Hear From ZenBiker?
Jeff, Did you build the motor in that bike? If not do you know who did? I was watching Mike doing a few practice burnouts the other day and could tell by the sound of this motor that this isn't your everyday SBC. This is a wicked 383 Stroker at 480 HP and whoever built it knew what they wanted to ac...

Re: Anybody Hear From ZenBiker?
You guys may have heard that we just found Joe's bike up here in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Mike Vrensen here has had it for about 4 years and I met him 2 years ago. The bike has been here right under my nose the whole time and I didn't realize it. I never paid much attention to the bike until ...

Re: 502 Intake manifold question
Barry, you mentioned the bike ran hot with the 180 thermostat.
Did you try the 160 degree thermostat as I suggested? if so, how is the running temp now?

Re: Tranny Oil Level.
Steve, my thoughts on the hose are: leave it be if its not leaking. When you need to see the level, spray the hose with brake clean and get a good flashlight. You'll see it just fine.
Re: HOW LONG
Yes you are correct Shane on all of the above. I was chatting with Glen Boglish at Daytona Bike week and he has about 135,000 on his small block.. I like keeping the records like that so I can keep track of the maintenance and also longevity of parts, like fuel pumps, etc. Some are better than other...

Re: Bryan Ward's 2004 BHC repair records
I liked the idea of beads because there were no ugly external weights to ruin the appearance of the wheels. But I could never get them to balance well after 80 MPH. At 100 the bike was miserable to ride so I just went back to the weights.
Re: HOW LONG
Most of you guys who know me also know that I ride a lot, pretty much whenever I can weather permitting. I'm still riding my one and only 2004 small block Boss Hoss that I bought new back then. Today the bike has about 319,000 KM on it which is about 198,500 miles, so knocking on the 200 door. And y...

Re: Tranmission oil levelsight tube
When I'm checking the site tube, I hit it with some brakeclean first, then get a really bright flashlight or something and keep it shining on it as I'm filling it up. Seems to work ok for me that way.

Hello from Calgary, Canada
Bryan Ward here, just thought I would check in. It's been a very long time since I was here so I had to start over and re-register. Anyway I'll have a look around here and figure out how this site works.
Cheers,
